The Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank tried to pay the money into the account of the Colonial Secretary at the Bank of England; but as there was no such account, and as we could not authorise them immediately to receive it for the Queen's Memorial Fund, the Bank of England authorities declined to receive it.
We ought to write to the Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank, and tell them to pay the money to the account of the Fund, and act accordingly.
